Technical Advisory Committee
The Technical Advisory Committee provides technical support and grant application review to the Board of Directors. It is a diverse, multi-stakeholder committee, with representation from local governments, water providers and business, agriculture, recreation and environmental conservation organizations.

Gary Brooks
Gary Brooks is a 40-year resident of Eagle County and currently sits on the Avon Town Council. He is also on the Northwest Colorado Council of Governments Board and serves on the Water Quality/Quantity Committee of NWCCOG. Gary is a past president of the Eagle River Watershed Council and is the current vice-president of the Eagle River Coalition and he sits on the Eagle County Housing and Development Authority Advisory Committee. When he's not sitting through board meetings, you can find him flyfishing the local waters, heading off to go bird hunting with his two Springer Spaniels, or working in his backyard vegetable garden with his wife Linn.

Laura Bohannon
Laura Bohannon grew up in San Francisco and moved to Colorado at age 13, where she discovered her love for the outdoors. She attended Colorado State University, and after graduation spent much of her twenties traveling internationally, learning from rural communities around the world. No matter how far she traveled, Colorado always drew her back. In 2013, Laura made Eagle County her home and later pursued a second degree in Leadership in Sustainability from Colorado Mountain College. In 2020, she joined the Eagle County Conservation District to help strengthen its operations and has since grown into her current role as Executive Director. Today, she leads the District’s efforts to promote natural resource management and conservation through technical and financial assistance, program development, and education and outreach.

Justin Carr
Justin Carr is a 20+ year resident of Eagle County and a 15+ year professional fly fishing guide. He is the co-owner of Colorado Angling Company, a fly-fishing outfitter based in Wolcott, where he shares his passion for the Eagle River and local waters with anglers from around the country. When he’s not guiding on the river, Justin enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and their two young boys in Edwards. He is committed to protecting and preserving the Eagle River so his family and future generations can continue to enjoy it for years to come.

Justin Hildreth
Justin Hildreth serves as a Senior Water Resources Engineer with the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District, for the past three years. A member of the Eagle County community since 2001, his work spans reservoir storage, watershed management, floodplain planning, stormwater systems, and water quality issues—helping ensure resilient and sustainable water resources for the region.

Kent Kriehn
Kent Kriehn is a 45 year resident of Eagle County. He managed an engineering firm in Edwards for 28 years. In retirement he enjoys trail running, cross country skiing, biking, hockey and various other athletic and outdoor pursuits.

Tom Mullen
Tom Mullen is a board member of Eagle Valley Trout Unlimited. He grew up in Missouri fishing trout parks on family vacations. In 1988 he moved to the Vail Valley and began working at the West Vail Liquor Mart in West Vail. He eventually had the opportunity to buy the business and was lucky to have a successful career in retail. Over the years he has pursued many passions. He had a private pilot license for a number of years and is a trained Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher certified through the UCSD Center for Mindfulness. In 2020 he sold the business and is happily retired. Retirement has afforded him the time to rekindle his passion for fly fishing and volunteer for causes he cares deeply about.

Bergen Tjossem
Bergen is a West Vail native who now calls Eagle home. After leaving the Vail area in 2010, he studied Environmental Science, Ecology, and Biodiversity at the University of Denver, worked with the Glacier Institute in Glacier National Park, Montana, and completed his Conservation Leadership Master’s degree at Colorado State University. During his time at CSU, he worked with the Geography and Evolution of Land Tenure Systems (GELTS) research group and completed his capstone project in Pirque, Chile, with the Andean Conservancy, both of which have guided his passion to work in private land conservation at the Eagle Valley Land Trust. In his free time, Bergen loves experiencing the mountains in as many different ways as possible – ski touring, trail running, mountain biking, fly fishing, and cooking over a campfire with his friends.

Pete Wadden
Pete is the Watershed Education Coordinator for Town of Vail. Previously, he was Stewardship Coordinator at Walking Mountains Science Center and an Environmental Science instructor at Colorado Mountain College, as well as the former board chair of the Eagle River Coalition. Pete is a graduate of Prescott College (MA) and Bowdoin College (BA). He’s an avid rafter, kayaker, angler, hunter, backcountry skier, dog dad and lover of water in all its forms.

Todd Winslow Pierce
Todd Winslow Pierce is a professional conservation photographer and lifelong resident of Eagle County. His images have appeared in numerous publications, ad campaigns, award-winning book projects and fine art installations. His assignments have taken him to diverse locations throughout the US, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. In 2020, he founded Eagle Valley Wild, a non-profit enterprise that provides high-impact photography to conservation-related organizations and initiatives in Eagle County, Colorado. In his free time, Todd enjoys the serenity of nature through hiking, mountain biking and skiing.
