Overview

Areas of Impact
The Eagle River Fund
Funding awarded through the Eagle River Fund’s granting mechanism is intended to support work that increases streamflows, improves water quality, and maintains healthy water temperatures within the Eagle River and its tributaries. This work will focus on projects that benefit the water quality, water quantity, and natural infrastructure in the Eagle River Valley.
Natural Infrastructure
Natural infrastructure is an area of impact that will include projects that:
-
Improve wildlife habitat and ecological services;
-
Improve soil health to reduce irrigation needs and increase drought resilience
-
Mitigate noxious weeds
-
Protect ecologically important lands that support critical functional flows and water quality of the watershed
Water Quality
Water quality is an area of impact that will include projects that:
-
Mitigate polluted stormwater, streambank erosion, and sediment
-
Buffer against the threat of increasing water temperatures in headwaters streams
Water Quantity
Water quantity is an area of impact that will include projects that:
-
Advance water efficiency and conservation strategies that increase functional stream flows throughout the watershed
